Students celebrate Ada Lovelace Day and women in STEM
The Carthage community came together on Oct. 8 to celebrate Ada Lovelace Day and women in STEM.
The day’s events included a scavenger hunt organized by the Division of Natural and Social Sciences in which participants learned about famous women in STEM to win cool prizes. There was also women in STEM cabaret in which female professors were able to give short talks on their research.
Lastly, there was a women in STEM trivia event held by the Women in STEM club and Carthage Activities Board. Participants were competing to win science-related prizes such as a tote bag, a beaker coffee mug, and a neuron plushie.
Keep an eye out for future Women in STEM club events and join the celebration next year!
